Arka
Arka is a Chilean rock group based in Santiago who's members are Daniel Duhart (vocals, guitar), Miguel Gatica (vocals, drums) and Javier Duhart (vocals, bass guitar).
Their music is mainly rock and pop, with occasional experiments in bossanova and ballads. Their songs are about visions of life, humanity and the future. Hence the meaning of their name Arka (Ark in English): a ship that sails through rough and stormy seas in search of new horizons.
In 2000 they released the album "El Momento" (The Moment) which portrays current world issues through its songs and attempts to answer some of the questions that arise.
They are currently recording songs for two new albums. One will be released during 2009 and will contain an assortment of new songs and re-recordings of old favourites. The other album will be released in 2010 or later and is a concept album titled "En Busca de la Ciudad Perdida" (In Search of the Lost City). The songs will describe an expedition through an imaginary continent in search of the lost city where society lives in peace, and the music will incorporate elements of the Latin-American culture.
