Gwendolyn does, frankly, defy categorization as a performer, as well as a consummately trained musician. She practices a rare form of aural alchemy before our eyes and ears.
Her magic formula, which can only be executed successfully for love not money, requires the added elements of receptivity and co-operation on everyone's part. Gwendolyn extracts just the smallest spark of inspiration found in the ethers of the given moment and poof!, her radiant fires of creativity burst forth lighting up the stage and warming the listeners too.
Gwendolyn is an inherently exotic creature. Her kindly granny image misleads the mind's eye merrily. For she is age-resistant, gender-irrelevant and not a bit the personage we'd ever imagine creating such passionate musical incriptions.
This, then, is the most amusing rub of all. She is not what we'd expect, yet she is the perfect container for this precious cargo. Periwinkle blue eyes teasingly reflect her delightful interior design and assure us we can relax now.
Gwendolyn has everything well in hand. We may take a deep breath, knowing we are in for a phenomenal ride on her vintage cello, the likes of which we've never quite imagined.
