Mana
Mana is a Bahá'í music and cultural performance group based in Sydney, Australia. The members of Mana are predominately youth, most of them still attending high school, and though they are all residents of Sydney, their roots are traced back to Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands.
This diversity is present in the soulful voices of its memebrs, and is mirrored in their performances and music, which is an invigorating blend of various Polynesian dances, rhythms and sounds fused with pop. The name Mana means "the Almighty" or "the Powerful" in most Polynesian languages.
To date, Mana has released 2 albums: "Reflections on the Life of the Spirit" and "Arising to Serve". All lyrics have been taken from the Bahá'í Writings found in the sequence of courses known as Ruhi.
All members of Mana and the individuals involved in the initiative are working on a completely voluntary basis and all profits from the albums are channeled into the recording of subsequent albums so that eventually there will be one CD for each Ruhi book.
