Rahmatollah and Parisa Badiyi

Rahmatollah Badiyi began playing the nay, a Persian flute, at the age of five in Iran. From early childhood he exhibited extraordinary musical talent.

He studied at the Tehran Conservatory and later collaborated with various national orchestras as a concert master and soloist as well as teaching at the National Conservatory of Music in Iran.

In addition to the violin, he plays the kamancheh and ghichak, traditional Iranian stringed instruments.

His daughter, Parisa Badiyi, began playing the piano as a child and studied at the Music Conservatory of Tehran. Her warm, touching voice is well-suited to traditional Persian singing, a skill she mastered under her father's guidance.
